  • Kuykendall Border Collie Herding Demo

http://www.kuykendallcoulterbordercollies.com. Over the past 40 years, Henry Kuykendall, along with his dogs, have literally traveled the United States conducting Border Collie Demos. Henry’s son, Glenn and his wife Kent will be running the demonstrations at the Bridgewater air this year. Their approach to a demo is to inform and educate while providing an interesting program. Using his special line of dogs, They raise the public’s awareness of the value of the dogs to today's livestock producers as these dogs use their instinct and herding ability to complete various tasks.
As they work the dog a speaker provides the audience with information about the Border Collie breed and explains how Glenm uses the dogs at home. We illustrate how the dog is used to gather livestock, move it from one location to another, run stock through a working chute, the use of the dog to hold stock to you while you catch a ewe with a crook and examine it, pen stock in working area or load onto a trailer, and the use of the dog to separate the stock. He often will showcase a young pup to show instinct.
